Jared is a young detail oriented architect whose passions include achitecture, design, construction, photography and leading technologies.
He started this blog to tell his story of achieving his license as well as to chronicle his experiences as an architect in today's world. Being as African American, he only accounts for less than 2% of US RAs. His intent is to encourage young interested youth that this is attainable with hard work and you do not have to be of a certain breed.
He has also taken on the task of bringing a stage for anecdotes of others taking the AREs and what their thoughts are before, during and/or after as well as pointers to beginners.
In the summer of 2006 he traveled abroad throughout China studying architecture and the urban form while completing his BArch. He graduated cum laude from New York Institute of Technology - Manahattan in 2008. Recently registered as a full-fledged and licensed architect, he currently works in New York City on institutional, commercial and residential projects specializing in sustainability, interior architectural spaces and restoration. His post follow his day to day task in and around New York City on construction sites, roofs, basements, streets, apartments, homes, schools and any place his client's projects take him.
